ABOUT US

Koontz Lake Brewery is the first and oldest microbrewery in Starke County, Indiana.  We applied for license in 2014 and opened in 2015.

Koontz Lake Brewing Co. is a traditional brewery and we brew our beers to the German purity law, Reinheitsgebot.  This law is 500 years old and states that only 4 ingredients are used in making beer: water, hops, barley, and yeast.  We believe that our mission is not to reinvent the beer but, to brew the best beer we can and honor traditional beers. We are an all grain brewery and we grind our grain just before we brew to ensure that it is as fresh as possible.
